Messner Mountain Museum

The Messner Mountain Museum Firmian at Sigmundskron Castle near Bolzano describes the confrontation between man and mountain. Sigmundskron Castle towers above the confluence of the Adige and Isarco rivers on the Mitterberg. It is one of the oldest castles in South Tyrol and an important political symbol for the people of South Tyrol. According to historical records, the ruins date back to 945.
