The Bletterbach can be found in the South Tyrolean municipality of Aldino. The Bletterbach gorge formed by the Bletterbach stream, which is also known as the "Grand Canyon of South Tyrol", is located at the foot of the Weisshorn. The gorge is around 8 kilometres long and 400 metres deep. It was formed in the Ice Age around 15,000 years ago. Numerous fossil finds have made this UNESCO World Heritage Site particularly famous. The fossil finds and dinosaur footprints from the Bletterbach Gorge can be seen in the GEO Museum Redagno.
